Background :The protein encoded by this gene is structurally very similar to the CDC46 protein from S. cerevisiae, a protein involved in the initiation of DNA replication. The encoded protein is a member of the MCM family of chromatin-binding proteins and can interact with at least two other members of this family. The encoded protein is upregulated in the transition from the G0 to G1/S phase of the cell cycle and may actively participate in cell cycle regulation.

Western blot analysis of extracts of various cell lines, using MCM5 antibody at 1:3000 dilution.
Secondary antibody: HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG at 1:10000 dilution.
Lysates/proteins: 25ug per lane.
Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST.
Detection: ECL Basic Kit .

Immunofluorescence analysis of U-2 OS cells using MCM5 Rabbit pAb at dilution of 1:100 . Blue: DAPI for nuclear staining.

Immunoprecipitation analysis of 300ug extracts of HeLa cells using 3ug MCM5 antibody . Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using MCM5 antibody at a dilution of 1:1000.
