Background :This gene encodes a nucleoporin, which is a subunit of the nuclear pore complex that functions in active transport of proteins, RNAs and ribonucleoprotein particles between the nucleus and cytoplasm. Mutations in this gene are associated with steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome.
