Background :The protein encoded by this gene has an N-terminus that is similar to the multicopy associated filamentation (maf) protein of Bacillus subtilis and to orfE of Escherichia coli, while the C-terminus is similar to N-acetylserotonin O-methyltransferase. This gene is located in the pseudoautosomal region 1 (PAR1) of X and Y chromosomes. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Western blot analysis of extracts of various cell lines, using ASMTL antibody at 1:1000 dilution.
Secondary antibody: HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG at 1:10000 dilution.
Lysates/proteins: 25ug per lane.
Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST.

Immunoprecipitation analysis of 200ug extracts of SW620 cells using 1ug ASMTL antibody . Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ASMTL antibody at a dilution of 1:500.
